Where is New Life?

We’re located at 75 E. 1100 North in Chesterton.  We’re 2 ˝ blocks west of the 49 bypass, on the north side of the road (between IN-49 and 5th Street).  For more specific directions, click here.

What is a Wesleyan?

We are a part of The Wesleyan Church, an evangelical, Protestant denomination.  We offer the good news that faith in Jesus Christ makes possible a wonderful personal relationship with God, a holy life empowered by His Spirit for witness and service, and assurance of eternal life in heaven.  Our name is in honor of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, whose emphasis on a life of faith, self-discipline, and perfect love is our example.  For more information on The Wesleyan Church, check out www.wesleyan.org.  For more information about What We Believe, click here.

When are your worship services?

Sundays at 10:30am.  We also have a Family Night, with something for all ages on Wednesdays starting at 6:30pm.  For a more detailed schedule of service times, click here.

What is your worship service like?

Our Sunday morning service lasts approximately 60-75 minutes, and consist of an acoustic blend of modern and timeless worship songs, prayer, a Scripture-based message, and often a drama or video presentation.  We utilize video technologies in many parts of the service.  Our purpose is not to “put on a show” but to help lead people into the presence of Christ.  For more information on our Worship Ministry, click here.

What can I expect?

New Life, like any church, is not perfect.  We do try our best to be friendly and welcoming.  You will find a church of all ages, from newborns to the newborn at heart.

What should I wear?

We have no "dress code."  You may find some wearing a shirt and tie, while most are casually dressed and may even be wearing a t-shirt and jeans.  We want to eliminate anything that might distract you from hearing God speak to you.

Yes, we have sound headphone devices for those with hearing impairments.  If interested, please ask a Sound Technician located in the booth at the back of the sanctuary.

Is the facility wheel-chair accessible?

Yes, we have handicapped parking available, and our facility is single-story, with handicap-compliant restrooms and hallways.  If you need further assistance, please feel free to speak with one of our door greeters.

When do you offer Communion (the Lord's Supper)?

Every fourth Sunday in our morning worship service (and other special days such as Good Friday services) we partake in the sacrament of Communion (also known by other Christians as the Lord's Supper, Eucharist).  Participants stay in their seats as the bread and juice are passed on by.  (If you feel uncomfortable taking communion, you do not have to participate--just pass the plates down.)  People need only to have a personal relationship with Jesus and do not need to be members of New Life.
